The Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 (Fire District #1), also known as Station 51, proudly serves over 17,000 residents across 14 square miles. Operating seven trucks from a single station, the company protects a primarily residential area, with a second station used for storage and training.

 

Our department is primarily composed of dedicated volunteers, supplemented by career personnel. Station 51 responds to approximately 500 calls annually, including structure and vehicle fires, vehicle extrications, water rescues, confined space rescues, and trench rescues. We have seen a decline in the number of brush fires in recent years.

Our mission at the Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 is to provide the highest level of service to our community. We are committed to meeting the fire prevention, fire suppression, and emergency response needs of our citizens, effectively mitigating fires and other hazardous situations within the scope of our available resources.
